Pedal Racer,
Gary Begg,
Scotland

Mr. Begg has sent us several great photos of the Really Nice Pedal Racer he made for his grandson. We've put them on a whole page of their own, so take a look at the beautiful Pedal Racer Gary built!

Not one, but TWO Buffy-Porsons!

Buffy-Porson,
Stephen Hunt
The Buffy-Porson book was published in the early 1970's and showed kids (of all ages!) how to build a really fun coaster. The car is styled after an MG K3 Magnette racer from the early-'30's, a great car, and one of our favorites! I built this car when I was seven years old. Mr. Hunt obviously still has his Buffy book, and that's me on the cover showing off above!

Mr. Hunt wrote that this is the second time their Buffy-Porson has been restored! In the photo below, that's his brother when it was being re-done the FIRST time thirty years ago!

We are always THRILLED to get photos and stories of people building the Buffy, either decades ago or today! It's fifty years old now, amazingly, but I still have the first one! It's not in as nice shape as Mr. Hunt's, but I still love it! This is a great project, and kids should really be building these! And the companion books, The Amphora (which we actually sell updated plans for still!), and Farming In Boxes (which showed kids how to make a greenhouse and grow things!)

Many Thanks to Mr. Hunt and Mr. Linson for sharing their Buffy-Porson photos! We Love 'Em!

Buffy-Porson,
Jeff Linson
Mr. Linson has his Buffy-Porson book, too! Yay! This pair of Buffys looks like they've had a good lot of fun — The tread is well-worn on the rear tire of the red car, as is the brake. Well done!! It's great to see these and know some young drivers had a lot of good fun in them!

Mr. Linson wrote a note about the photo below:
"The BuffyPorson
was one of my favorite books and
projects for our two children growing up! I built
his and her versions of the Buffy-Porson calling
them the Stephen Speedster and the Jamie
Jalopy! Here are the cars at Charlotte Motor
Speedway 20+ years ago with Humpy Wheeler,
the President of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The second picture is the two cars as they are
today displayed in "Jeff's Dream Garage" in
Charlotte, NC. Thank you for the great life
experience and memories..."

We are incredibly happy and honroed to be able to have helped your family create some wonderful memories...Than you!

Pedal MG TC,
Andrew Gilliand,
Darwin, Australia
Mr. Gilliand has made a great looking MG TC, and it looks like it's VERY well-recieved! I love squeeze-bulb horns, too! And this is the first of our projects from Darwin, I think...Great to see; Thank you!
